한국의 실험미술 거장 이건용과 함께 하는 <제3회 국민일보 아르브뤼미술상> 수상자 전시회에 초대합니다. 사람과 동·식물, 일상과 자연을 다룬 작품은 비장애인 전시와 비슷해 보입니다. 하지만 금방 놀라운 차이를 느낄 겁니다. 이들의 뇌신경적인 특성은 세계를 인식하고 표현하는 방식에 차이를 만들어 새로운 미술 언어가 주는 기쁨이 있습니다.
작품마다 말을 겁니다. 자폐 등 말로 소통하는 게 쉽지 않은 신경다양성 작가들이라 사람에게 닿고 싶은 욕망을 그림에 숨겨 놓았기 때문입니다. 대상 수상작에서 영감을 얻은 전시 제목에는 장애·비장애인이 위계 없이 어울려 사는 사회를 촉구하는 마음을 담았습니다. 지금, 이들의 이름을 불러주세요.

Call Me, Now
We invite you to the exhibition of the winners of the 3rd Kukmin Daily Art Brut Art Contest, joined by Korean experimental art master Lee Kun-yong. At first glance, the works, which deal with people, animals, plants, everyday life and nature, may seem similar to those created by people without disabilities. But you’ll soon notice a striking difference: the neurodiverse characteristics of these artists lead to different ways of perceiving and expressing the world, bringing joy through a new artistic language.
Each piece speaks to you, as these artists, who find it difficult to communicate verbally due to autism and other conditions, channel their desire to reach out to people into their paintings. The title of the exhibition, inspired by the grand prize winner, reflects their hope for a society where people with and without disabilities live together without hierarchy. Let’s call them now.
